NAUS Elects New National Stakeholders Forum Leadership

The National Association of University Students (NAUS) has elected Comrade Abdullahi Idrisu Kasimu as the National Chairman of the National Stakeholders Forum, while Comrade Benson Evelyn emerged as the National Secretary after securing the highest number of votes in a keenly contested election.

The election, which was held on 1st June, 2026, brought together stakeholders and delegates of the association from across the country to elect leaders who will coordinate and strengthen the activities of the National Stakeholders Forum.

At the conclusion of the electoral process, Comrade Abdullahi Idrisu Kasimu was declared elected as National Stakeholders Forum Chairman, while Comrade Benson Evelyn was returned as National Stakeholders Forum Secretary, having both polled the highest votes in their respective contests.

The election was widely described as peaceful, transparent, and credible, reflecting the commitment of the association to democratic principles and the collective will of its stakeholders.

In his acceptance remarks, the newly elected Chairman, Comrade Abdullahi Idrisu Kasimu, expressed appreciation to members of the forum for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged to provide purposeful leadership, promote unity among stakeholders, and work collaboratively with all members to advance the objectives of the National Association of University Students.

Similarly, the newly elected Secretary, Comrade Benson Evelyn, thanked delegates for the mandate and assured members of diligent service, transparency, and commitment to strengthening the operations of the forum.

The emergence of the new leadership marks the beginning of another chapter for the National Stakeholders Forum of NAUS, with expectations that the newly elected officials will foster greater collaboration, provide strategic guidance, and contribute meaningfully to the growth of the association and the advancement of the welfare of university students across Nigeria.

Members of the association and stakeholders have since congratulated the newly elected officials, expressing optimism that their wealth of experience and commitment will further strengthen the National Stakeholders Forum and enhance its role within the broader NAUS structure.
